Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) funds and operates three air ambulance helicopters and a fleet of critical care cars across six counties in the Midlands, including Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands. As one of the UK’s busiest and longest-established air ambulance services, MAAC has responded to over 80,000 missions since 1991. The charity receives no government funding for its daily operations and relies entirely on public and corporate donations to cover its £16 million annual running costs. MAAC plays a vital role in delivering rapid, lifesaving pre-hospital care across the region.
MAAC also offers accredited clinical and first aid training for professionals and the public, delivered at its purpose-built education centre. Courses range from trauma care to paediatric first aid. Additionally, MAAC provides flexible room hire at its Cosford headquarters, including immersive suites, boardrooms, and training spaces for up to 120 guests. All bookings directly support lifesaving missions across the Midlands.
