GeoPlace and HAUC(UK): Supporting smarter, safer, more sustainable street and road works

HAUC(UK) brings together highway authorities, utility companies, and government to minimise disruption from street and road works while maintaining essential services. 

Together, we support better coordination through: 

• The National Street Gazetteer (NSG) and DataVia API 

• USRNs for street lifecycle and asset data 

• Support for permit schemes, lane rental, and traffic-sensitive streets 

• FindMyStreet – showing publicly maintainable streets 

• The HAUC(UK) App – your go-to tool for street works advice and on-site guidance 

• Collaboration with DfT, Geospatial Commission, TfL, JAG(UK) and regional HAUCs 

We’re also driving the Road to Net Zero project—developing strategies to reduce carbon emissions and support sustainability in the street works sector. 

Together, we’re building a more efficient, coordinated, and sustainable street network for the UK.
