Jack Kneeland is a Partner in Vector Energy Advisory and a Senior Advisor to The Lantau Group and AWR Lloyd. Over the last five years, Jack has developed and led a joint New Energy Practice in completing dozens of consulting and advisory engagements in renewable energy, natural gas and power. He brings to this role over two decades of experience working with companies, investors, developers and governments across Asia. Recent client engagements include strategy consulting, market and investment analysis, commercial & financial advisory and transaction support.
Jack has over 15 years of experience in Asian energy and capital markets. He previously worked for several investment banks including UBS Securities (Thailand), where he was a Director, Head of Thai Equity Research and Energy Analyst. At UBS he also covered over US$35bn of Thai stock market listed energy sector stocks including PTT, PTT Exploration & Production and Thai Oil. Jack also held analyst and management roles at Phatra Securities (Bank of America/Merrill Lynch) and Asia Plus Securities (Royal Bank of Scotland). He has also held senior management positions in large Asian clean energy projects funded by USAID and was a member of the executive board, investment committee member and head of finance for Pacific Agri Capital, a Singapore-based private equity fund that made and exited from investments in upstream agricultural assets.
Jack has an extensive track record of project development and transaction support work. Jack has recently conducted extensive work on successful development and capital raising for greenfield and brownfield projects. These have included biomass power, solar PV, and wind power projects in Indonesia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Thailand. At Pacific Agri Capital, he led and participated in developing a set of upstream agricultural investments in Asia and Latin America including two projects that were listed on the London AIM market.
Jack also serves as an advisor and judge for Thammasat University’s Master’s of International Marketing (MIM) program and the Asia Venture Challenge (AVC) competition. He holds a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he concentrated in international finance and energy.
