Shamika Sookoo is a renewable energy Project Developer at HDF Energy with relentless commitment to advancing sustainable and renewable solutions. Armed with both an Electrical Engineering and Business Management qualification, she also has 5 years of professional experience. Shamika has experience at a utility-scale project developer and an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the participation of Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Programme (REIPPP) and utility-scale Private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) bids in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) space all the way to Small-Scale Embedded Generation Business and Project development.   She currently leads the project development operations of the wind cluster at HDF Energy and contributes towards the commercial aspects of impactful renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. Known for her strategic vision and hands-on approach, Shamika continues to drive innovation and embrace change by being actively involved in the Just Energy Transition dialogue. As a Women in Engineering - STEM ambassador, she draws from her own experiences and passion to encourage interest in job opportunities within the industry.  With a proven track record of navigating complex challenges, Shamika continues to be at the forefront of shaping a more sustainable and resilient energy future.
