Bethany Meban joined the SSI as Head of Policy & Communications in May 2026, having served as Head of Press & Policy Communications at SolarPower Europe for almost five years, leading media relations, policy-focused messaging, and crisis communications. Prior to this, she was employed by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, working in the press office of the UK Mission to the European Union during Brexit and UK-EU trade negotiations. Earlier in her career, she completed a traineeship at the Office of the Northern Ireland Executive in Brussels, and gained experience in public affairs consultancy in Belfast.
