Tim Gee, STEAM Teacher, Barker College

As a STEAM teacher and leader, Tim Gee is passionate about empowering students to become creative and confident problem solvers. With a deep belief in the power of play-based learning, he specialises in designing hands-on, engaging STEAM projects that connect non-digital skills to digital problem-solving. He aims to help students see the link between traditional tools and modern technology. Tim is a strong advocate for real-world problem-solving and a teacher who deeply connects his teaching to sound educational principles. He leverages his extensive experience in design thinking, coding, traditional woodwork, and modern digital fabrication (including 3D printing, laser cutting, and 3D modelling) to create student-centred learning experiences that foster critical thinking and collaboration. At EDUtech 2026, Tim will share his innovative approach to increasing student engagement and improving digital literacy. He will explore practical strategies for integrating non-digital skills and play-based learning to build a strong foundation for digital problem-solving. This session will provide educators with actionable insights on how to create vibrant, hands-on learning environments that prepare students for a rapidly changing world.
