Tim Wong drives innovation in sustainable built environments and carbon management as AECOM’s ESG & Sustainability Hub Lead for Hong Kong. With 16+ years of experience, he bridges civil engineering expertise with ESG principles and digital innovation, emerging as a recognized sustainability thought leader.
Beginning his career in 2008 with climate-resilient transport and water infrastructure projects in Hong Kong, Tim has since participated in major projects across the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia building experience in both digital innovation and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG). He pioneered ESG integration in projects like Hong Kong Island’s Northwest Drainage Tunnel before the term gained mainstream traction.
An ICE member (2013), ESG planner and analyst and a certified carbon auditor, Tim serves on the Hong Kong Green Building Council’s Infrastructure Rating Committee, advancing carbon management in the built environment. His contributions earned him the Hong Kong Young Engineer of the Year award (2020) and selection as a Hong Kong SAR delegate to COP28 (2023). He was also nominated to the World Federation of Engineering Organisations’ Young Engineers/Future Leaders Committee.
