Dr. Muhammad Amar Gul is a geoscientist and AI specialist with over a decade of experience integrating advanced analytics, machine learning, and laboratory data into mineral exploration and mining decision-making. He currently serves as Project Geologist – AI & ML at China National Geological & Mining Corporation (KSA), where he leads data-driven workflows for ore characterization, geochemical modeling, and exploration risk reduction.
Dr. Gul holds a PhD in Geology (Geochemistry & Artificial Intelligence) and is the Founder & Director of AIMEX Lab (Artificial Intelligence for Mineral Exploration Laboratory). His research and industry work focus on applying AI/ML techniques—such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Neural Networks, and explainable AI—to large geochemical and laboratory datasets for ore deposit classification, grade control, and strategic mine planning.
He has published extensively in leading international journals and is recognized for his work on machine-learning-based classification of Pb–Zn-Cu-Au and critical-metal deposits, including case studies that bridge laboratory analytics with real-world mining operations. His expertise spans laboratory data integration, smart analytical workflows, and the role of advanced analytics in supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 mining and industrial transformation.
