Julian is a full-stack marketing and communications leader with over 17 years of experience spanning eCommerce, technology, hospitality, aviation, manufacturing, advertising, and non-profits. He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer at Alola, where he seeks to use technology to make travel planning and booking more simple, streamlined, and personalized. His previous roles span a diverse range of industries. As Head of Marketing and Communications at the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) where he set out to “make accounting sexy again”. As Vice President, Regional Campaign and Product Marketing at Lazada Group, he ran the most iconic regional mega campaigns such as 11.11 and 12.12, while launching innovative and impactful product solutions across Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he led leisure marketing and promotions in Asia Pacific for Hilton. Julian is passionate about nurturing the next generation of marketers. He works closely with university marketing societies and mentors emerging talent through various non-profit organizations. He also shares his expertise with working professionals as a lecturer at Singapore Management University (SMU) Academy, where he runs an advanced certification course on Marketing Technology. Julian also serves in consultancy and advisory roles across several innovative ventures: MobiPetz, a pet tech company dedicated to enhancing pets wellbeing; Alpaca Health, a virtual hospital that connects patients directly with Allied Health providers; and Synerverse Group, a consultancy that provides marketing solutions for businesses entering the China market as well as Chinese companies expanding internationally. Perhaps his most important roles, Julian is a dedicated “Instagram husband”, and a dad to two young children and a Shiba Inu.
