Jared Valarao was the Chief Financial Officer of Philippines AirAsia during its recovery from the Covid pandemic. From 7 operating aircraft, a bleeding cash flow, and a high debt to equity ratio, the fleet more than doubled in less than 6 months and the airline was back in the black when his stint ended. Prior joining the world’s best low cost airline (according to Skytrax for 14 years already), he was in fast moving consumer goods for 7 years turning around and growing various brands, product lines, and geographies. During the pandemic, Jared was the Head of Revenue Growth Management of Colgate-Palmolive. He is part of the team which led the Philippine business to unprecedented growth. They surpassed pre-pandemic levels, as profits grew as much as the entire European business units of Colgate-Palmolive combined even with supply chain disruptions and logistics costs are at a quadruple-high. He is currently the General Manager and Group CFO of PHILORE Group Pte. Ltd, a talent life cycle management company based in the Philippines and Singapore. Jared began his corporate career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), specializing in commercial analysis, risk assessment and investment valuation. He has experienced different industries performing various progressing roles in finance, marketing, and sales. He is currently associated with the Asian Institute of Management and is also a Certified Management Accountant with a level 9 NZQF rating by the New Zealand Qualification Authority which is equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Australia and New Zealand.
