Jason Rankin, Group CFO & GM ASEAN | Cornerstone Performance Management
Jason Rankin is a seasoned CFO and transformation leader who brings more than two decades of experience helping finance teams move from manual, fragmented processes to modern, insight-driven ways of working. With a background spanning auditing, controlling, business intelligence and financial leadership across Australia, Asia and Europe, he combines strategic clarity with a grounded, people-centred approach to change.
After beginning his career with Price Waterhouse and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Jason built his expertise in analytics, systems and performance management through roles at organisations including GlaxoSmithKline, Lion Nathan and Boehringer Ingelheim. His leadership philosophy has remained consistent: set clear goals, build trust, and create the conditions for teams to do their best work.
Since joining PMsquare Asia in 2012, and now Group CFO of CPM Group, Jason has focused on developing high-performing, collaborative teams that deliver practical, value-driven solutions for clients across the region. Known for his “can-do” mindset and strong sense of accountability, he approaches transformation with equal parts pragmatism and optimism — recognising that technology accelerates progress, but people make it possible.
With experience across 58 countries and a career built on integrity and connection, Jason brings both global perspective and genuine relatability to every finance audience he speaks with.
Finance transformation isn’t a technology journey: it’s a human one. While platforms and AI often take centre stage, the real difference between finance teams that modernise and those that stall is the strength of their “human engine”: leadership clarity, data trust, capability, and the behaviours that unlock progress. Join Jason Rankin as he explores how the 3Ts framework (Traditional, Transitional, and Transformational) offers a practical approach to help teams move past the “messy middle” and build the capability, data trust, and insights that shifts FP&A from financial steward to strategic AI-ready enabler.
