Amit Malik, Vice President & General Manager, Asia Pacific, Japan & India Amit Malik leads Ciena’s business in Asia Pacific, Japan and India, where he is responsible for driving the sales strategy in this key growth region for Ciena. Amit also served as Sales Leader for India before his current appointment Prior to joining Ciena, Amit held several roles in Cisco across all segments, including Managing Director Strategic Sales, Global Service Provider Segment, Asia Pacific & Japan. He also managed the Public Sector & Services business for Cisco in India and South Asia and was responsible for the sale of Cisco products and services to the Central and State Governments and Defense in India. Amit’s experience spans more than 30 years in diverse industries, such as Electrical, Industrial Automation, Transportation, Telecommunications, and IT. Amit is acknowledged in India and South Asia for his efforts in driving the growth of information and communications technology, leading to business transformation. A key speaker at forums on Inclusive Growth, Smart Nations, and 5G, Amit has been the Co-Chair, FICCI Urban Infrastructure & Smart Cities Committee, and was also previously Co-Chair for ICT for CII Eastern Region, and the Vice Chairman for Amcham. Amit is passionate about leveraging technology for driving inclusive growth and mentoring startups. He enjoys scuba-diving and traveling the world with his wife and two daughters
