Agenda

Join Nokia for our Masterclass where we will look at the latest trends and technologies in the telecoms world of 2025, and in individual sessions we will drill down to look at The Role of Pluggable Transponders in Future Subsea Architectures, Sensing in Submarine Networks, and The Road to Automation in Submarine Networks.  We will also host a quiz based on the Masterclass content with the opportunity for you to win some great prizes!

The Nokia Masterclass will cover the following topics:

Introduction
Peter Zwinkels , VP Global Sales Subsea, Nokia

Session 1: The Telecoms World in 2025: The Latest Trends and Technologies
n this presentation, Geoff Bennett will highlight the major trends affecting submarine networks, and the data centers and terrestrial networks they interconnect.
Geoff Bennett , Director, Solutions and Technology, Nokia

Session 2: The Role of Pluggable Transponders in Future Subsea Architectures
Pluggable transponders began (in the form of 400ZR) as a low cost way to interconnect data centers across urban distances. In this presentation Alan Hollander looks at the progress of pluggable transponder technologies and capabilities, and describes the alternative approach to subsea network architectures they may offer in the near future.
Alan Hollander , VP of Global Subsea Systems Engineering, Nokia

Session 3: Sensing in Submarine Networks: A Technology Review
There are over 550 submarine cables interconnecting the continents of the world and providing a unique opportunity to become advanced sensors.  In this presentation Mikael Mazur will look at two very different applications for sensing – one that looks at environmental and geological phenomena and the other that provides vital information on cable protection and operations.
Mikael Mazur , SDM Fiber & Devices Researcher, Nokia Bell Labs

Session 4: The Road to Automation in Submarine Networks
As the capacity of submarine cables continues to rise, the need to automate operational processes becomes ever more vital.  In this presentation Teresa Monteiro discusses the value that AI-driven operational technologies can bring to service provisioning, cable performance monitoring and cable protection.
Teresa Monteiro , Director of Solutions Marketing, Nokia
