Athena Core Technologies is building East Africa’s next-generation digital backbone, anchored by a high-capacity subsea cable system (WAYA) and the first Tier IV carrier-neutral data center in Tanzania, creating a new strategic gateway for global connectivity into the region.

Designed for hyperscalers, telecom operators, and digital platforms, Athena delivers scalable, low-latency, and resilient infrastructure, enabling direct access between East Africa and major global hubs across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The WAYA subsea system leverages advanced open-access architecture and multi-terabit capacity to support growing demand for cloud, content, and data-intensive services.

At the core of the platform is a Tier IV, carrier-neutral data center ecosystem, providing mission-critical colocation, interconnection, and cloud on-ramps with high availability and redundancy. As the first Tier IV data center in Tanzania, it sets a new benchmark for reliability and performance in the region. Together, these assets form an integrated infrastructure layer that connects subsea, terrestrial, and edge environments — enabling a new level of performance, resilience, and scalability across East Africa.
