Prof. Dr. Bernhard Rüger is managing director of netwiss and professor at the Vienna University of Technology. For more than twenty years he has been working intensively on the behaviour and requirements of passengers in local and long-distance trains and on the optimisation of vehicle layouts with a special focus on luggage handling, passenger flow and the dwell time of trains. In more than 50 projects, he worked in research projects as well as in the optimisation of vehicle layouts, among others for large railway operators such as ÖBB, SBB or DB, and contribute to a significant increase in efficiency of deployed and newly built vehicles.
