Zephyr Aquilon is a Lausanne-based deep-tech medtech startup developing the Multiple Fourier Horn Ultrasonic Nebulizer, a MEMS-based pocket nebulizer that uses Faraday-wave atomization to aerosolize injectable-grade biologics for pulmonary delivery. Unlike conventional nozzle-based nebulizers, its orifice-free architecture is designed to handle large, shear-sensitive molecules — such as monoclonal antibodies and mRNA-LNP formulations — more gently, opening a path to delivering therapies directly to the lung that today require injection. The platform is propellant-free by construction, aligning with the regulatory shift away from high-GWP propellants in inhalers. Founded and led by Ali Murat Saygili, who brings ~15 years of drug delivery device and inhalation systems experience from PMI, JTI, and precision engineering programs at Delphi Diesel Systems, alongside ~20 patents and training at EPFL, MIT, Harvard, and INSEAD, Zephyr Aquilon is currently advancing its device platform toward biologic-specific stability validation, with an initial strategic focus on inhaled biologics for respiratory inflammatory disease such as asthma.
