We create software robots to help you get things done in your office. We call them digital workers or bots for short. Think of this as additional people in your department doing tasks in Windows, Office and your business applications that real people normally do. They click on buttons, read text and type away, and they make decisions based on rules just like you and I would do. Like a human person, a digital worker needs training and support. This takes a little time but once the bot has learned the rules it sticks with them forever. As with humans there are situations when you need to ask a question or get confirmation on a task. Our bots deal with this as well. If a digital worker finds a situation where they don’t know what to do they will let a human know. A real person can then finish the task themselves and the bot can be given a new rule to deal with the situation when it happens again. We at Ottomater like teamwork and our team works best if the bots do the boring stuff and the humans focus on the more interesting tasks.
