Jon Willow is committed to digital empowerment. Throughout her career, she has worked with state and local governments and policy-making bodies in various capacities to improve the quality of life for every person. She has extensive experience supporting utilities in their efforts to connect with their communities, manage crisis communications, and make informed, data-driven business decisions. A successful serial entrepreneur, Jon has also worked extensively in economic development and as a startup coach and mentor.
Jon's organization, the Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN), is one of 18 cohort members in the National Digital Inclusion Alliance's NDNC – National Digital Navigator Corps – pilot program. In her home state of Michigan, she and CBAN actively support digital equity work in multiple regions with planning, grant preparation, and coalition building as they work towards achieving true digital equity for all. She's particularly interested in how AI can service reveal gaps and opportunities, meaningfully aggregate and reveal data insights, and streamline the digital equity work of field level professionals.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Iowa and holds additional relevant certificates. An advocate for all pollinators, she is a community beekeeping instructor, and raises bees and chickens on her small acreage in northern Michigan. In her abundant free time, Jon is preparing to sit her exams for her Master Beekeeper certification from Cornell University.
