Harrison Hiner is a Legislative-Political Coordinator and Senior Campaign Lead for
Communications Workers of America (CWA) District 6 covering Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma,
Arkansas, and Kansas. CWA is the largest union of telecommunications workers in the country
and, our members are experienced broadband technicians and community leaders who
believe in digital equity and high-speed broadband access for all.
Harrison is currently the District 6 staff coordinator for CWA’s Broadband Brigade which is a
nationwide union campaign to expand high-quality broadband access with labor standards to
create more good jobs in the telecommunications industry while developing a highly trained and
skilled workforce that is essential to closing the digital divide throughout the nation.
Based in Austin, Texas, Harrison’s advocacy for universal broadband access and workforce
development includes multiple states, county, and municipal governments throughout the CWA
District 6 region.
Harrison Hiner has 14 years of experience working with labor unions and in governmental
affairs. Prior to CWA District 6, he worked for the Texas AFL-CIO, the United Auto Workers, and
the Texas State Employees Union-CWA Local 6186.
