Youssef Idealcid is a recognized AI and digital leader with over 16 years of experience driving enterprise-scale transformations in healthcare, biotech, and consumer goods. He currently heads the AI Research Center for drug development at Gilead Sciences, where he leverages AI and machine learning to accelerate R&D pipelines and optimize clinical trial design. Prior to Gilead, Youssef served as Senior Director and Head of AI & Data Science at Genentech, implementing data-driven strategies across commercial, medical affairs, and government teams. He also held key leadership roles at Levi Strauss & Co., establishing the company’s first AI demand-planning platform, and at L’Oreal, pioneering predictive analytics in consumer beauty and wearables. Youssef holds an MBA from IAE Paris and Sorbonne Business School, an engineering degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Polytechnic Lyon France, and a certificate in AI from MIT Sloan. Most recently, he completed an executive program for advanced leadership at Columbia Business School, focusing on innovation, strategy of change, and the global economy. Through cross-functional collaboration and open innovation, he continues to shape the future of AI in healthcare and beyond.
