Tom Brookland is a regulatory science policy leader at Roche, currently leading AI and data regulatory policy for the EU region in the pharmaceuticals division. He has worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for the last 18 years, combining interests in regulatory science, health technology and policy research. He has held multiple roles within regulatory product development across molecules and therapeutic areas, in addition to globally and regionally focused policy roles in the emerging areas of RWD/RWE, digital health, AI/ML and data sharing. His current work is focused on the emerging European data and AI policy landscape supporting new legislation and initiatives such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS), the AI Act and the EMAs emerging policies on AI in medicines development. He is part of EFPIA and co-chairs EFPIA’s Digital Health working group and leads the EFPIA AI subteam.
