Dr von Scholten is a medical doctor from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition, Dr von Scholten was in 2018 awarded the highest achievable academic degree as Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc). This degree was based on extensive clinical research in the cross-field of data science and cardiometabolic diseases. Specifically, the clinical research was focused on prediction, prevention and treatment of serious chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease. Dr von Scholten has published more than 75 peer-reviewed scientific publications, several of these in high impact journals and his most recent H-index is 31. In 2023, Dr von Scholten was appointed Adj. Professor in the field of Clinical Data Science at Aalborg University, Denmark. The ambition is to utilize novel data science technologies to improve and tailor the treatment of people living with chronic diseases.  Dr von Scholten is currently heading up the Data Orchestration area anchored in Data Science at Novo Nordisk. The primary purpose of Data Orchestration is to maximise the potential of data science in the clinical development programmes.
