ALLOX was born on the realisation that the integration of systematic mutagenesis, high-throughput phenotyping, and biophysical modelling has the potential to fundamentally transform drug discovery and, more broadly, biotechnology. The company is a spin-off from the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona and is currently based at the Barcelona Science Park. ALLOX has developed a proprietary platform technology to design novel therapeutics targeting previously unknown protein functional hotspots, with an initial focus on cancer and broad applicability across other disease areas.

While AI chemistry and co-folding methods can now generate binders against virtually any protein pocket or surface, a binder is not a drug: the missing piece is knowing which binders will actually have a functional impact. ALLOX's platform closes that gap, generating the large-scale functional data needed to guide AI-driven drug discovery toward targets and binders with real therapeutic potential.
