Heide is a Director of Epidemiology and a GSK Fellow in the Epidemiology department, Global Medical, at GlaxoSmithKline. She has been working as an Epidemiologist at GSK since 2001, providing leadership and expertise to develop and execute the epidemiology strategy across a whole spectrum of drug development programs. She has been a member of the GSK Hepatotoxicity board since 2005. Her key areas of expertise are pharmaco-epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, population biology and statistical methodology. She has applied her expertise in a variety of disease settings including infectious diseases, renal, cardiovascular/metabolic, liver safety, rare diseases and most recently oncology. Over the years, Heide has led a variety of research collaborations including EBMT, CIBMTR, University of Cambridge, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and co-supervised various PhD students and Post Docs. Prior to GSK she has worked at Roche Discovery Welwyn as genetic epidemiologist and biostatistician focussing on infectious diseases and various drug discovery projects. Heide received her Doctorate (PhD) in Epidemiology and her Diplom in Biology from the University of Basel, Switzerland.
