Andreas Maunz, Principal Scientist, R&D Imaging Data Analysis Expert Roche Pharma Research and Early Development Informatics, Roche

Andreas Maunz received his diploma in computer science from Albert-Ludwigs University Freiburg in 2007, and received his doctoral degree from the Technical University Munich in 2013. He is a principal scientist in research and early development at Roche‘s main site in Basel, supporting early phase clinical trials in Ophthalmology with algorithmic retinal image analysis. He is mainly working on predictive machine learning models for response to therapy to enable tailored treatments for patient subgroups.

Research interests: Machine Learning on images and image-derived data (deep learning, gradient boosting), image analysis (image processing, graph cut methods, kernels), Advanced statistical models and simulations in longitudinal studies, and data mining (clustering, pattern detection, signal processing).
