Adrian Egli, Head of Division, Clinical Microbiology, Universitatsspital Basel

My interests in clinical microbiology focus on:
- development of novel diagnostic assays and approaches for rapid identification, high-resolution typing and antibiotic resistance of pathogens using whole genome sequencing, MALDI-TOF MS, machine learning
- translation into clinical routine application for improved work-flows with high precision

My research group (Applied Microbiology Research) at the Department of Biomedicine, University of Basel, focuses on understanding host-pathogen interactions, pathogen-specific immunity and the impact on disease transmission in the community.
