Panos Nicolaidis, Chief Ground Operations Officer, AEGEAN

Panos has an overall airline experience of over 35 years and has been working for Aegean Airlines Ground Operations for the last 26 years starting as station manager from 1999 until 2005, then as airport services manager until 2010, Ground Operations Director until 2020 and since then as Chief Ground Operations Officer.   He is the nominated person for Ground Operations in Aegean Group (Aegean, Olympic Air) and he manages +35 domestic and over 130 international airports. His responsibilities cover Airport Operations (performance, baggage services, etc.), Customer Experience (Care Center, Lounges, Ground Product, Digitalization of Airport Services) and Contact Center (Call Center, Customer Relations). He is also responsible for Ground Handling agreements and Airport contracts, Airport Services continuous improvement projects, Ground Operations safety.   Under his leadership Aegean Ground Operations launched several digital products for disruption management, Bags 360 (full automation of mishandling baggage services for both agents and customers). Finally, the creation of multi-dimensional analytics for all ground handling and operations departments.    He served for many years as a member in various IATA working groups. (GOG, AGSA) until 2023.   Panos participates in the Star Alliance Customer Experience Strategy Group since 2014.
