Chris Mason MD, PhD, FRSB, FRCS, FMedSci Chris is a leading international expert in cell and gene therapy with over 30 years of experience spanning R&D (including AI/ML), clinical medicine, regulation, manufacturing, reimbursement, and commercialization. He is Full Professor of Cell and Gene Therapy in the Advanced Centre for Biochemical Engineering at University College London, with over 250 publications and patents in the field. Chris is also a serial entrepreneur and has founded multiple biotech companies, including Sun Vectors (Founder and CEO), OriBiotech (Founder and former Board Director), and AVROBIO (Founder and former CSO). He also serves on the Board of Directors of several biotech companies and nonprofit organizations, including Krystal Biotech, Papillon Therapeutics, and the Foundation for mRNA Medicines. Chris earned a BS in Molecular Biology from Imperial College London, an MD from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, and a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from University College London. In 2019, he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
