Dr. Zhang is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zhang’s work has elucidated the formation of cytotoxic CD4+ T cells, particularly on the role of the CD70/CD27 and OX40L/OX40 costimulatory pathways in this process. Building on these insights, as well as recent advances indicating an important role of CD4+ cytotoxic T cells (CD4 CTLs) in anti-tumor immunity, he is pioneering innovative strategies to generate CD4 CTLs targeting multiple tumor antigens for immunotherapy in various cancers.
