Rachel Warnick is a specialist educator, learning designer, and a teaching and learning strategist. She is the Chief Programmes Officer at Professors Without Borders, where she strives to make a global impact by leveraging visionary pedagogical approaches to make education more equitable, accessible, and enjoyable. To this end, she is a global nomad serving as Chief Programmes Officer at Professors Without Borders, travelling the world to create, manage, and deliver projects focused on the core 21st century skills essential to business and academic success.
She is a National Geographic Certified Educator, a Teach SDGs Ambassador, and a learning and design consultant to clients in Africa and Europe. Rachel is also a civil society leader living in Mauritius and working regionally to serve as the General Secretary of the Great Green Wall Grassroots Alliance, a Southern Africa CSO network that works closely with the African Union, SADC Secretariat, FAO, and UNCCD. In addition, she is the Director of International Relations for the Mauritius NGO United Green.
Rachel holds an MSc in International Management from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London and spent fifteen years in the finance and non-profit sectors - most notably with Goldman Sachs and the UNHCR - before returning to the field of education. She has presented at the UAE Ministry of Education Greening Education Pavilion at COP28 in Dubai; UNCCD Great Green Wall Initiative Regional Workshop; Learning Planet Festival; York University Sustainable on the Go; and BMW Foundation Herbert Quant, among many others. She is a chapter author in Supporting Adult Learners Through Games and Interactive Teaching (Routledge, 2022). Rachel was honoured with the 2022 NGO Whisperer Social Impact Fellow of the Year Award.
