John Dela Cruz is a Professional Electronics Engineer, Associate ASEAN Engineer, First-Class Radiotelephone Operator, and Class A Amateur Radio Operator. His academic credentials includes a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Manila, followed by a Master of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from De La Salle University. Presently, he holds the position of Team Lead for Electronics Systems and Deputy Contract Manager for Contract Package NS-01 at the Rolling Stock and Systems Division of the North-South Commuter Railway Extension Project Management Office (NSCR-EX PMO) of the Department of Transportation – Philippines.

He is managing the Design and Implementation of Signaling, Telecommunications, and Automated Fare Collection Systems on the Malolos-Clark and Solis-Calamba sections of the future NSCR line. Prior to railways, he has been an Instrumentation and Control Engineer at JGC Philippines Inc. In the academic sphere, he is deeply connected, serving as an Associate Professorial Lecturer at the College of Engineering and Graduate School of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

Additionally, he imparts his knowledge as a Part-time Lecturer at the Institute of Engineering of Marikina Polytechnic College and as a Part-Time Lecturer at Technological Institute of the Philippines – Quezon City. As a testament to his commitment to continuous growth, he is currently pursuing a Doctor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of the Philippines – Diliman. His outstanding contributions have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by his recent accolades, including the Outstanding IECEP Rizalian Award 2023 from the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Rizal Chapter and the 2023 Outstanding Electronics Engineer award from the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines
