Engr. John Dela Cruz is a Professional Electronics Engineer and Associate ASEAN Engineer with professional experience in large-scale railway infrastructure projects, specializing in signaling, telecommunications, and control systems. He graduated BSc Electronics and Communications Engineering at Polytechnic University of the Philippines and MSc Electronics and Communications Engineering at De La Salle University. He previously held leadership roles in national railway projects, particularly in the North-South Commuter Railway Extension Project of the Department of Transportation, before transitioning into full-time academe. He is currently an Associate Professor in the College of Engineering of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. His research interests include railway signaling, automatic train operation (ATO), telecommunications, control systems, and engineering education. He is currently taking up PhD Electronics Engineering at Batangas State University, Philippines, with research leading towards innovation in railway control systems. He is actively engaged in professional organizations and is committed to bridging industry practice with academic research and instruction. He was also awarded as one of the ten (10) Outstanding Electronics Engineers by the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines in 2023.
