Michelle Gillespie, Registrar and Director Student Administration and Library Services, Swinburne University of Technology

Michelle has over 31 years of sector experience including 9 years at Swinburne where she has responsibility for the University Libraries as well as Student Administration for all Higher Education and Vocational Education students. This includes all future and current enquiry management, contact centre, admissions, enrolments, course advice, academic progress, scholarships, graduations, fees, retention, orientation, curriculum, academic calendars, timetabling, international student support, copyright, records management and library services.

Prior to working at Swinburne, Michelle worked at The University of Melbourne for 12 years in leadership roles including the Manager of the Timetabling, faculty leadership roles including Department and Student Centre Manager, and as the Change and Training Manager of the Student One implementation team.

Michelle is also the co-chair of the TechnologyOne Student Management Customer Executive Committee, a member of the Council of University Librarians (CAUL), a member of the CAVAL Products and Services Committee and the My eQuals Management Committee. A strategic leader of industry best practice service initiatives, notable achievements include designing 2 innovative operating models devised to drive excellence in student experience. Changes implemented have delivered improvements in the Student Experience Survey (SES) of 21% for Swinburne.

Specialising in customer service Michelle has the vision to tackle things differently to achieve ambitious outcomes.
