Martin is the Content Manager of the Digital Technologies Hub, an Australian portal and repository of teaching and learning resources for the Digital Technologies learning area. He leads the development of the AI supporting resources. As well as writing many of the primary AI lesson plans, Martin developed the visual programming samples in Scratch 3.0 that feature in the DT Hub AI lessons.
AI tools now allow more accessible ways for students and teachers to experiment with machine learning, and use this powerful technology in their own projects.
In this session, hear about a set of lessons and professional learning available to inspire teachers and inform their classrooms. Martin Richards and Nathan Alison were part of a development team to bring together this resource, freely available on the Digital Technologies Hub.
From image recognition to ethical questions, AI is an authentic and relatable context for delivering Digital Technologies in Australian schools.
