Maria has a work history ranging from Graphic Design to IT both in sales, presales demonstration and in house training of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software before making the switch to education.  She has been working in education for over 12 years in a variety of capacities from Education Support (ES) to ICT Leader in Specialist and Mainstream settings. Maria is currently in the role as a STEM Specialist Teacher at Lakes Entrance Primary School, in which she has created a lot of change including the introduction of programs such as eSports, Drone Club, STEM Girls and the participation of ICT Accelerated Program and Bebras Computational thinking Challenge. Additionally, she is a participant in the Teacher Excellence Program 2022, under the Technologies discipline with the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.

Outside of teaching, Maria is determined to be a changemaker for education (EdTech), with a particular focus on regional low socio environments. As a result, Maria understands that it requires commitment, reflection and personal development. She is also a Google Innovator #SYD19, Google Trainer, Google Education Group leader, Google Innovator Mentor and Ambassadors for Applied Digital Skills, Mote and STEMPunks.
