 Lorena has a love and passion for both teaching, emerging technologies, and supporting teachers to build their skills and confidence with technologies.  Over the last 10+ years in education, Lorena has taught in both primary and secondary sectors, worked as the Regional STEM Champion for Far North Queensland, and presented numerous professional development workshops to over 50 schools across the Far North. 

Lorena currently teaches and is the Head of Department of IT at Bentley Park College and supports Q-Site FNQ as the Professional Development Coordinator, that delivers digital technology workshops and conferences for educators, as well as regional robotic and coding competitions for students.  

She has a special interest in innovative and immersive pedagogical practices and will speak at EduTECH on the topic “The systems needed for remote learning” as well as, the topic of – “Security is more than the firewall; how to train your staff and students”.
