John Mackenney, Principle Digital Strategist, Adobe

As Adobe’s Principle Digital Strategist, John advises the senior leadership at Adobe’s enterprise customers on strategies for customer experience transformation and digital innovation. John brings together a wealth of knowledge in industry development and practical implementation experience to help customers devise comprehensive transformation programmes.
 
John has the rare distinction of having also undertaken a professional transformation from a successful career in senior finance roles to become a true digital transformation expert. 
In his previous role as CFO of Tourism Australia, John drove the rejuvenation of that organisation’s corporate business systems, which gave him first-hand experience of how digital solutions can solve critical customer challenge. 
This work helped the organisation achieve its vision of making Australia the most desirable and memorable destination for leisure and business.
 
John subsequently went on to lead Tourism Australia’s overall digital transformation effort, which included the creation of digital marketing channels such as Australia.com and Australia.cn, along with new social media channels, which extended the organisation’s reach to millions of people across the world each week.
 
Prior to his time at Tourism Australia John was a CFO in New South Wales government, holding several senior roles at the NSW Department of Family and Community Services, where he led significant strategy and transformation programmes.
 
John is also a keen weekend runner and enjoys spending time with his young family.
