Ashley is passionate about engaging and inspiring students through the use of Human Centred Design Thinking and technology. Having a background in both Social Sciences (Economics) and Science (Geology) coupled with his experience in a variety of innovative and technology focused industries he has a unique perspective on how innovation and technology can impact all aspects of life. Ashley has a keen interest in how technology can bridge divides – geographical, social and economic. Ashley was formerly the Director of Monash Tech School.

Using human centred design thinking and innovative technology to engage First Nations students

Discover how a collaborative Human Centred Design Thinking program engaged students, schools and the community and allowed First Nations students to connect to their culture through innovative technology.

The presentation will outline the development process, the power of working collaboratively and building on existing departmental activities and projects. Finally, we will showcase the outcomes of this project including the development of peer networks, increased student engagement in school and the blending of indigenous stories and culture with technology to create community focused projects.
