Alan Dodson | Director, System and School Performance

Alan is currently in his 44th year with the Department, Alan was initially a primary and district high school teacher before taking up a number of positions in the Central Office including as education officer, information analyst, principal policy and planning officer, senior consultant, manager and for the last 17 years as a director. His academic qualifications include a Master of Education from Curtin University where he also lectured part time in the Education faculty.  Alan continues to represent Western Australia at numerous national forums in relation to assessment, data, reporting, research and evaluation. He has played a pivotal role in ensuring the Department embraces technological advances related to data and analytics to ensure that the information needed to support self-assessment, planning, reporting and decision making is available for schools, regions and the system.
