Viktor Schwarz from the basis an electrical engineer with a bachelor degree is working since 2012 for NSW (Norddeutsche Seekabelwerke GmbH.) as part of the Prysmian company. In the beginning he has acted as a technical support engineer for oil and gas companies like AkerSolutions, Oceanerring or Technip for the design, specification and production of low voltage and fiber optic control cables in submarine umbilicals. In 2016 he went to the research and development department and took the responsibility for RD of submarine telecom cables. In that time he has worked on new developments like the increase in fiber count the MINISUB 288 or a submarine telecom cable with 1728 fibers the SA 6xMINISUB 288. In 2019 he also joined the Cigré working “Recommendations for the use and the testing of optical fibres in submarine cable systems” as a representative for the optical cables and the german Cigré community.
