Philippe Perrier, Submarine Cable Systems Engineer, Meta

Philippe A. Perrier joined Meta’s Subsea Engineering Team 
as Submarine Cable Systems Engineer at the end of 2021 in 
Singapore. His main responsibilities include the design, build, 
and delivery of Open Cable submarine cable systems in the 
APAC region and to drive technology developments for the 
next generation of high-capacity submarine cable systems. 
Prior to his current role, he held the position of CTO at 
Globenet. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from 
Columbia University in New York City, has (co)authored about 
100 refereed papers and conference contributions in the fields 
of optical networking, transmission, and switching, and holds 
two dozen US patents.
