Diego Matas is the Chief Operating Officer of EllaLink, where he has been working for the past eight years, joining the project during its development phase. With a career spanning 28 years, Diego has held key leadership positions in major telecommunications firms. At Interoute, he served as Managing Director of the Spanish unit and was a member of the Interoute Operational Management Team during the construction of the i21 network. He also chaired the i21 Ring Committee in Spain. His experience includes senior roles at Global Crossing and Cable & Wireless, as well as consultancy work for private equity firms specializing in telecom infrastructure and Data Center services. Diego holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Parks College, St. Louis University, and a Postgraduate Degree in Switching Architectures and Data Transmission from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He is also a Senior Member of IEEE.
