Mr. Pang Te Cheng is the Consul-General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City, with over two decades of diplomatic experience across Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. He has served in multiple senior roles at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, including as Consul-General in Chengdu, Deputy Director-General of the Technical Cooperation Directorate, and Vice Dean of the Diplomatic Academy.
Mr. Pang has played key roles in international negotiations and strategic initiatives, including the early development of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity. He also led Singapore’s Data Analytics Task Force, applying artificial intelligence and data analytics to modern diplomacy.
His overseas postings have included Hanoi, Taipei, and Chengdu. Mr. Pang holds a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies from Columbia University and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He is proficient in English, Chinese, and has working knowledge of Vietnamese and several Chinese dialects.
