Ms. Mia Gunawan is the Director of Environmental Sustainability at PUMA Group, where she leads the company’s global supply chain initiatives on climate, water, chemicals, waste management, and circularity. With a background in biochemistry and a decade of experience in sustainability, she focuses on driving environmental responsibility across the apparel and sportswear industry.
Before joining PUMA, Ms. Gunawan spent over nine years at H&M Group, where she held various leadership roles in sustainability. Most recently, she served as the Impact Lead on Chemicals, overseeing the end-to-end strategy for chemical sustainability across H&M’s value chain, ensuring compliance with global regulations and integrating sustainable chemical practices. She also worked as a Global Sustainability Program Manager for Chemicals, managing chemical strategy execution across H&M’s global sourcing markets.
Ms. Gunawan is also a member of the Board of Directors at the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme, contributing to industry-wide efforts to eliminate hazardous chemicals from global supply chains.
She holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Business from Seton Hill University. Her expertise lies in chemical management, environmental sustainability, and coordinating complex global projects to support a more sustainable future.
