1. About AHK Vietnam:
AHK Vietnam is part of the global AHK network with 150 locations worldwide. As your #PartnerInVietnam, we support German companies in their international ventures in Vietnam.
AHKs combine three functions in their locations
1. Official Representatives of the German Economy
The AHKs are the central actors of the German foreign trade promotion on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany. They represent the German business interests in corresponding host countries. They provide information and advertise the German location.
2. Services for companies
Under the service brand “DEinternational”, the AHKs support the foreign trade business activities of firms from Germany and the host country.
3. Membership organization (The representation in Vietnam is no membership organization yet)
The AHKs connect to companies which are active in a bilateral economic relationship. Those members give AHKs the authority needed when interacting with politics, business and administration in terms of promoting bilateral business relation.
The German Economic Community in Vietnam is promoted by the German Business Association (GBA).
Our consulting and supporting activities
Thanks to the double presence in both important cities Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi regarding the economy, the AHK Vietnam provides German companies sound advice and support on-site, with help of a competent Vietnamese and German staff.
Under the DEinternational brand, we provide a comprehensive range of services, including market insights, market entry strategies, business promotion, event and delegation management, dual vocational training aligned with German standards, fair migration, and professional recognition, as well as initiatives like Hand in Hand for International Talents. We also offer support for trade fair participation, marketing, and publications.
Our strength lies in our highly qualified, motivated, and experienced team of Vietnamese and German professionals in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Leveraging our long-standing, reliable contacts and personal networks, we facilitate efficient market research, seamless market entry, and optimized investment processes, ultimately leading to effective problem-solving and significant time savings for companies.

2. About GIZ ESP:
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development with over 50 years of experience. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the European Union, GIZ is working with Viet Nam to achieve environmental, climate-neutral and inclusive development (just transition).
Since 2009, GIZ has supported the Government of Viet Nam to achieve its political targets on the promotion of renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE). In 2013, the GIZ Energy Support Programme (GIZ ESP) — a partnership between Viet Nam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and GIZ was established, and energy was set as a priority area of cooperation between the two governments.
The GIZ ESP now aims to accelerate Viet Nam’s sustainable and efficient energy transition strategy by improving the regulatory framework for RE and EE and increasing the capacities of key stakeholders.
