Thailand is one of the most promising solar markets in the world, and the government is committed to boost renewable energy sources.
In accordance with the Alternative Energy Development Plan (AEDP) 2018, the government of Thailand is committed to the progressive establishment of renewable energy power plants. The objective of the government is to elevate the share of renewable energy to 30% of the total energy. consumption by the year 2037.
This strategic initiative is accompanied by a steadfast commitment to sustain a renewable energy procurement target of 19,000+ megawatts.
Thailand’s solar market is expected to record up to 15% CAGR through 2027.
As part of a concerted effort to advance numerous PV initiatives, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand is spearheading the development of the Bhumibol Dam Solar PV Park in Tak, projected to generate 778MW - solar PV will have a dominant market share in Thailand’s new energy mix.
