Tonichi Agoncillo is a graduate of BS Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University and has an MBA with the Asian Institute of Management.  He has been with Meralco for 24 years, starting off in helping set up e-Meralco Ventures Inc. (now Radius Telecoms), and afterwards leading the company's foray into Electric Vehicles (EV) 15 years ago and Renewable Energy (RE) 10 years ago. Being a pioneer in these industries, he helped provide the structure for the development of institutional knowledge as well as technical showcases that provided commercial replication opportunities with Meralco customers.  He spearheaded the creation way back 2013 of the first EV charging station in the country at the Meralco head office complete with solar, wind and battery energy storage system.  He also created the business model that allowed pioneering customers like Ateneo, Net Group and Quezon City to be at the forefront of EV and EV charging station adoption in 2014.  Through these, he was instrumental in co-developing the business plan that led to the creation of Meralco's EV subsidiary eSakay (now Movem) and its Solar PV subsidiary MSpectrum. His most recent projects are the Smart Home, EV Garage and EV Charging Shed with Solar rooftop laboratories in the newly constructed Meralco Power Tech educational and training facility which serve as the prototype design for a sustainability-focused customer interface.
