Dave Banner, Scheme Manager at MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Dave is the Scheme Manager at MCS, the UK’s quality mark for small-scale renewable technologies that are installed in homes and small businesses. They set standards that allow for the certification of products, installers, and their installations - giving everyone confidence to invest in renewable energy. Dave and the Scheme Management team oversee the operational delivery of the MCS Scheme, engaging and managing relationships with stakeholders across the industry – including installers, MCS certification bodies, and Ofgem. They work closely with government to share valuable insights into MCS data trends, driving forward the UK's uptake of renewable technologies. In his role, Dave also oversees the MCS Installations Database (MID), the central database that holds records of every MCS certified installation in the UK. Dave is currently supporting certification bodies through the transition to MCS’s redeveloped installer Scheme, which is raising the bar for quality and consumer protection throughout the industry.
