HYDGEN designs and manufactures modular PEM and AEM electrolyser systems that generate high-purity hydrogen on-site and on demand, directly at the point of use. Headquartered in Singapore and founded in 2024 as a spin-off of the National University of Singapore, HYDGEN manufactures its stacks and systems at its 20 MW-capacity manufacturing facility in Mangaluru, India. Its systems range from compact units for laboratories and pilot lines to containerised installations of 1 MW and above. 

Industrial hydrogen supply still depends on logistics: trucked, tube-trailered or piped in, adding cost, variability and risk to process-critical operations. HYDGEN removes that dependency. By producing hydrogen from water and electricity where it is consumed, HYDGEN gives manufacturers in CVD diamond, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals and semiconductors a secure, facility-controlled supply with lower delivered cost. HYDGEN serves customers across India and Southeast Asia and is expanding into Japan, Europe and the Middle East. 

HYDGEN controls its core technology in-house membranes, catalysts, stack architecture and system integration and builds proprietary PEM and AEM stacks from 1 kW to 100 kW, with single-stack capacity scaling to 250 kW. Its Mangaluru facility brings stack production, skid and container assembly, and testing under one roof, backed by a team of more than 50 engineers, scientists and specialists. In 2026 HYDGEN designed, supplied and commissioned a 40 kW PEM electrolyser system and unveiled its 1–4 kW mini electrolyser for laboratories and pilot lines. 

Backed by a USD 5 million equity-and-debt round, HYDGEN is scaling manufacturing to deliver on-site hydrogen as standard industrial equipment: specified, installed and operated like any other utility on the plant floor.
