Dr Jacqui Crozier McCleland is the Operations Manager (Technical and Quality) at PVinsight, where she oversees technical operations and maintains the ISO 17025-accredited Quality Management System for the photovoltaics testing laboratory. She is also a Senior Researcher in the Photovoltaics Research Group at Nelson Mandela University.  Jacqui holds a PhD in Physics, with a research background in photovoltaic device characterisation—specifically electroluminescence imaging and PV module testing techniques. Her current work focuses on PV module degradation, quality assurance, improved testing standards, and circular economy strategies for end-of-life modules. In addition to her research, she supervises postgraduate students working on advanced PV characterisation techniques and solutions to improve the reliability, safety, and long-term performance of photovoltaic modules in South Africa’s diverse energy landscape.
